BEACONS of LIGHT

What is Beacons of Light?

Beacons of Light is a multi-year process of pastoral planning for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Groupings of parishes will come together as one faith community. These new “Families of Parishes” will be stronger, with the resources to focus more on mission than on maintenance.

Through Beacons of Light, 50-60 parish groupings will become Families of Parishes throughout the cities and towns, suburbs, and rural communities of the 19 counties in western and southwestern Ohio. Pastors and parish leaders will then plan for the future of their Family of Parishes.

How do the new families come together?

The Archdiocese approved six principles that will be the foundation for the plans each Family of Parishes will develop. These principles are the Eucharist, Church, Stewardship, Leadership, Evangelization, & Love in Action. Each of these guiding principles will help the family of parishes build their own vision and mission while keeping true to canon law, yet still customizing it to their parishioners.

BECOMING PEOPLE WHO

RADIATE CHRIST

If each of us is called to radiate Christ, we must be rooted in a strong, vital parish that forms us as disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ at every stage of life and faith.

Curious about progress toward parish vitality and the goals of Beacons of Light in our 57 Families of Parishes? Archbishop Schnurr has released the 2025 Parish Vitality Report to bring everyone in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati up to date. In addition to facts, figures, stories, and witness, there’s an opportunity for you to give feedback on your experience of parish life, which will be used in future planning for our Family of Parishes. Check it out at www.catholicaoc.org/pvr.

St. Isidore the Farmer - Plan of Action

The St. Isidore the Farmer Family of Parishes will be and are currently working towards the unification of our five parishes in accordance with the Beacons of Light planning pathway.  We have made notable strides in reaching the completion of canonical unification.
